Ayr Art Circle, founded in 1944 is a club for artists based in Ayrshire. It is affiliated to Ayr Arts Guild and currently there are some 35 members. The club is unique in that it owns a small studio in Ayr. Although many members paint at home, the workshop sessions in the studio stimulate discussion  and provide very helpful support and advice. Members may use the studio at anytime and there are small groups who meet together on a regular basis throughout the year. Painting in all mediums and styles is undertaken and the studio space provides the opportunity to work in many disciplines such as Still Life or Portraiture in a companionable and friendly environment.

All members pay an annual subscription of £30 and a calendar of events is organised each year. This includes demonstrations by professional artists and crit nights at which members bring along their work for constructive and supportive comment by fellow artists. Non-members are very welcome to attend demonstrations which are usually held at Wellington School in order to accommodate larger numbers. A small charge is made to members and visitors at these events to help offset the costs involved. Members also have the opportunity to exhibit their work at least once in the year. Full details of future demonstrations and exhibitions can be found on our News page.

Please look round our web site where we have examples of members' artwork and more detailed information about us. Much of the members work is for sale and, should you be interested, or if you would like to get in touch, use the Contact page referenced in the links above.
